Captain America's director

Joe Johnston, of Jurassic Park III, is set to direct, First Avenger: Captain America for Marvel Studios.

The original 1940's comic dealt with Steve Rogers, a rejected Army candidate who undergoes an experiment involving a sort-of 'supersoldier serum' that takes him to the pinnacle of human form. The new film is a period piece set during the Second World War, though the upcoming The Avengers movie in which he plays a key role will be set in the modern day. That film is scheduled for Summer 2011.

Johnston's has wrapped work on The Wolfman remake which is scheduled for release April 3rd next year.
