Little Red on the Big Screen

Writer David Leslie Johnson is developing a Gothic re-imagining of Little Red Riding Hood, for the Appian Way production company. The company working under the banner of Warner Bros. worked with Johnson on Orphan, which has grossed $30 million in less that two weeks.

The story made famous by the Brothers Grimm, about a girl off to see grandma through the woods, will get a gothier adaptation via an older oral version of the tale dating back to the Middle Ages.

Versions of the tale include Werewolves and Red being eaten without a happy ending. Suggested reading: Charles Perrault.
