A HUGE four day weekend in the US has seen the largest Memorial Day Box-office premiere. The Second biggest opening day in Box-office history for X-Men: The Last Stand with $44 Million on Friday and it kept going as the weekend progressed. Saturday saw a $32.1 Million pull and Sunday took another $25.5 Million. For a movie that was criticized as being rushed and poorly reviewed, this is a huge triumph. In comparison to X-Men: The Last Stand, The Da Vinci Code only saw $10.4 Million on Friday.
It was a great weekend for film watching, as McKellen vs. McKellen. Next weekend we have only one minor comedy, The Break-Up starring Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston. I have a feeling that X-Men will win on this one.
