While two direct-to-DVD films are being produced for Stargate SG-1 a third series in the Stargate Universe is being developed. A 2008 launch is expected as there will be time needed to finish developing the series and create a leading from the currently running Stargate: Atlantis.The first of the SG-1 videos is slated to hit stores this fall, after its final ten episodes air this spring on the US Sci-Fi network.
Stargate: Atlantis has ten more episodes left in its third season and is greenlit for a fourth season this fall.
Every expectation is that this new series will be filmed in Vancouver where all the Stargate television series have been filmed over the last 10 years.
