Warner Bros. has announced that they are pushing back the much anticipated release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, till July 2009. This is a good eight months from the, until-now date of November 21/08.
The new July 17, 2009 date is said to be only to bolster a week summer schedule next year, and that there is nothing wrong with the film, which had started showing trailers already. The new date is nearly two years since the last book was published.
It is yet unclear if Universal Pictures will move Land of the Lost, based on a Sid & Marty Krofft TV series from the same date, but Disney Digital 3-D has already jumped Bolt back 5 days to fill the vacated November spot.
