New Direction for DC comics Movies

Warner Bros. is looking to its recent success with Dark Knight to pave the future of its DC Comics turned feature films. Warner Bros. Pictures Group President Jeff Robinov talked to The Wall Street Journal recently and revealed their plans for the future of films, including more summer tent poles from the DC Comics unit.

While the plans for Justice League of America and the over-hyped Batman vs. Superman are on indefinite hold, as a new direction that will lead to these films has been formulated. Robinov announced, "We're going to try to go dark to the extent that the characters allow it." This will include a reboot of Superman and releasing four comic-book films in the next three years, including a third Batman film, two movies focusing on other DC Comics characters. Movies featuring Green Lantern, Flash, Green Arrow, and Wonder Woman are all in active development.
