TV Fall 2014

The 2014/15 television season is almost upon us and the theme of DC Comics is strong this year. While movies like Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers are smashing DC at the Boxoffice and spilling into Agents of Shield on TV, its DC that has more TV material on more networks. DC returns with the third season of The Arrow on its own CW network and spins-off The Flash for its first season. Add to that Gotham on FOX and Constantine on NBC and DC could be looking to conquer the small screen.

ABC adds the modern day vampire drama, Forever, to its line-up. Marvel's Agent Carter will work as a bridge program during SHIELD's winter hiatus. I am sure it will also play as a lead in to Captain America 3, hitting theatres in the Spring. Galavant will do the same thing for Once Upon a Time.

CBS adds the Homeland Security's high-tech team in Scorpion and holds onto the mid-season CSI: Cyber.

CW continues with two major franchises, both with two series. DC Comics start both Tuesday and Wednesdays off with The Flash and The Arrow, based on the title characters and lots of DC Comics based guest stars. The Vampire Diaries and The Originals on Monday and Thursday bring out the non-sparkly Vampires. Reign goes Medieval on you, while The 100 takes Lord of the Flies into the future.
In the mid-season line-up they have iZombie, The Messengers and the return of Beauty and the Beast.

FOX puts all its genre on one night, Monday. Sleepy Hollow returns after the new Gotham. Gotham tells the story of the city of Gotham while Bruce Wayne was young, and before Detective Gordon becomes the Commissioner. Expect to see the origin tales of Poison Ivy, Catwoman, The Penguin and many more characters pulled from the pages of Detective Comics.

NBC also seems to put its series all on one night, but while Grimm and DC based Constantine are both airing Fridays, there is a lot in the wings. Emerald City takes a new twist on the Land of Oz and the girl who walked the Yellow Brick Road. Heroes Reborn returns without Hiro and Claire, but gives us the world of ordinary people with new and amazing powers.
