I don't normally cover horror or comedy on this site, but I think the Munsters and maybe its predecessor, the Addams Family, are the two that make the exception and fall into our genre.
Now news has been released that the Munsters are getting a movie make-over. A reboot from the musician of morticians Rob Zombie (White Zombie) turned director of horror films like Halloween and House of 1000 Corpses.
Lots of news outlets are saying that the partnership of 1440 Productions being attached to the film means that its headed for Peacock+ streaming service. This would indicate to me that the film will hold more to its traditional roots and not be turned into a horror shock fest.
Rumored casting includes Sheri Moon Zombie (The Devil's Rejects, Lords of Salem) as Lillian and Matthew McGrory (The Devil's Rejects, Big Fish, House of 1000 Corpses) as Herman.
