The Emmys are television's version of the Oscars. Awards handed out for excellent work on the smaller screen. This year a few genre series got the nod.
The Boys, from Amazon Prime got 2 nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series.
The Mandalorian, part of the Star Wars universe on Disney+ got 5 nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series and Giancarlo Esposito for Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
The Handmaid’s Tale, based on Canadian author Margaret Atwood books and streamed on Hulu got 11 nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series. Elisabeth Moss was nominated for Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Max Minghella, O-T Fagbenle and Bradley Whitford were all individually nominated for best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, while Madeline Brewer, Ann Dowd, Yvonne Strahovski and Samara Wiley got noms for Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
WandaVision, part of the MCU on Disney+ got 8 nominations, including Outstanding Limited/Anthology Series. Elizabeth Olsen was nominated for Lead Actress in a Limited/Anthology Movie. Kathryn Hahn got a nom for Supporting Actress in a Limited/Anthology Movie and Evan Peters for Supporting Actor Limited/Anthology Movie.
